The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has strongly condemned the actions of two of its officers, Solomon Gbondo and Faith Willie, who were seen assaulting a female suspect.

The LDEA said the officers’ behavior is completely unacceptable and goes against the agency’s rules, which clearly forbid violence, abuse, and inhumane treatment of anyone.

As a result, the two officers were immediately removed from duty and handed over to the Board of Internal Inquiry and Professional Standards (BIIPS). This board will investigate what happened and decide on the proper punishment.

The LDEA made it clear that it does not support or accept this kind of behavior and warned all officers not to misuse their authority. The agency said any officer who abuses power will be punished according to the law.

The statement ended by stressing that there is no place for abuse of power in the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency.
