The grand launch, held on Saturday, January 17, at the Boulevard Palace Hotel, brought together senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and captains of industry to witness the expansion of one of Africa’s leading travel brands.

Providing an overview of the company’s mission, Isaiah K. Dongbo, Acting Managing Director of Blueberry, revealed that the agency operates in over 40 countries, serving a vast portfolio of corporate and leisure clients.
“Blueberry Travel Agency brings more than a decade of global travel expertise to the Liberian market,” Dongbo said.

“Our entry into Liberia strengthens the local tourism and business travel ecosystem while creating new opportunities for international partnerships and seamless global travel access.”
Adding to the company’s vision, Sunil Dela, the Regional Manager for Nigeria and Liberia, emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion within the West African sub-region.

“Our presence in Liberia is a commitment to bridge the gap in high-end travel services between Nigeria and Liberia,” Dela stated. “We are bringing a standardized, world-class service model to Monrovia, ensuring that our clients experience the same reliability and excellence that has made Blueberry a household name in Nigeria and across the globe.”
Representing the company’s forward-thinking leadership, Akshit Vyas, the agency’s Finance Manager, highlighted the significance of the launch as a long-term investment in Liberia’s growth.

“It’s not just an inauguration; we are planting a seed today for a better future and stronger connections,” Vyas remarked. He further assured the public and stakeholders of the company’s commitment to three core values: Safety, Service, and Support, promising that these pillars would define every client interaction in the Liberian market.

He noted that the agency offers a comprehensive suite of services, including corporate travel management, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), destination management, visa assistance, and luxury group travel. According to Dongbo, Liberia’s evolving business climate and untapped tourism potential make it an ideal market for the company’s mission of delivering sustainable travel experiences.
The ceremony was highlighted by a ribbon-cutting led by the Indian Ambassador to Liberia, H.E. Shri Manoj Bihari Verma, alongside Christopher Hayes Onanuga, Board Chairman of the Liberia National Tourism Authority.

In his remarks, Ambassador Verma lauded the agency’s decision to invest in Liberia, noting that the move would bolster economic ties and enhance tourism cooperation between Liberia and India.

“The coming of Blueberry will add another flavor to Liberia and India’s tourism cooperation and strengthen the economy of Liberia,” the Ambassador stated.
For his part, Liberia’s Tourism Ambassador, Christopher Hayes Onanuga, challenged the new entrants to maintain high standards as the country seeks to position itself as a travel destination.
“Today is a beautiful day in the tourism sector. My prayer for you is not to look at others, but rather set your own standard within the tourism sector,” Onanuga urged.

The launch of Blueberry Travel Agency is expected to increase competition in the local market, potentially lowering costs for international travel while providing Liberian travelers with more sophisticated digital booking platforms.
