MOORHEAD, MN (KVRR) – The parade wasn’t the only culturally significant event happening in the area this weekend.
The City of Moorhead also hosted their 22nd Annual Celtic Festival at the Hjemkomst Center.
This celebrated all Celts – including those historically from Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall, not just Ireland.
It was $5 admission for adults to experience a world of activities and shows – from three different performance stages, to fencing and dance demonstrations, and, of course, the food.
Organizers say it’s always satisfying seeing so many elements come together.
“I genuinely do love to just see it come together,” said Steve French. “Being the organizer of this thing, there’s always just so many little details.”
When asked about his favorite act, French said, “I would say, personally, the harps. Red River Harp Ensemble is going to be playing here in about 45 minutes and I’m just really excited to see those ladies get back on stage. ”
This year, the Celtic Cuisine Menu was provided by Concordia Catering.
