Dilworth Police Department Hosts Health & Safety Fair

DILWORTH, MN (KVRR) – Over in Dilworth – local authorities gathered as many health and safety organizations as they could into the DGF Elementary School Gym for a special informational day.

They called it the Dilworth Health & Safety Fair, and it featured everything from AARP informing adults how they could save money in retirement to informational lectures about how to spot early signs of Alzheimer’s.

Organizers say that they often together events for children, aiming to get them comfortable with authority figures like firefighters and police officers – and this time, they wanted to do something to connect the adults in the community with valuable resources.

“Everybody reaches out to the children, and nobody really reaches out to the adults,” explained Stacy Pritchard, the outreach coordinator for the Dilworth Police Department. “As we get older, we often don’t like to ask for help, and we don’t necessarily know the resources that are available out there. So I wanted to bring them all together.”

The Dilworth Police Department says funding for the event came via a generous grant from Chase Bank.
