Paynesville-Renowned businessman Allen Brown, Jr., has emphasized peace, stability, and private-sector investment as the cornerstone of Liberia’s economic recovery, as he received a humanitarian and leadership award from African Women for Jesus to All Nations.
The recognition ceremony, held at the Paynesville City Hall, brought together faith leaders, business figures, youth groups, and community stakeholders to honor Mr. Brown’s decades of service to humanity, faith, and national development.
Speaking on Liberia’s economic outlook, Brown stressed that sustainable growth is impossible without lasting peace and stability.
“The first thing any business needs is stability.
Peace and stability are the bedrock of economic growth and development,” he said. “Since the war, Liberia has enjoyed peace, and we should not overlook that.
When you have peace, then you can focus on economic development and job creation.”
Mr. Brown, who has spent much of his career in the private sector, emphasized that private sector capital investment is the key to prosperity in Liberia.
“We must encourage private capital investment to move Liberia forward. We can do this by ensuring that local and international business interests are protected,” he averred.
According to him, strong collaboration between government and business is critical to unlocking Liberia’s economic potential, particularly in job creation and youth empowerment.
He maintained that investors require not only peace, but also policy consistency and respect for the rule of law.
Beyond economics, Brown reaffirmed his belief in leadership by example, noting that his faith informs both his business and humanitarian engagements.
Over the years, he has combined entrepreneurship with social outreach, including employment creation and an ongoing feeding ministry for vulnerable communities.
“I am a strong believer in God, and I believe in leadership by example,” he said.
“I have been involved in the private sector all my life, consistently employing people and engaging in social activities aimed at positively impacting our nation.”
On national politics, Brown reiterated his support for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, whom he endorsed without preconditions during the second round of the 2023 presidential election.
He said his decision was guided by prayer and a desire to preserve national peace.
“I have no regrets.
The peace we have today is a blessing, and peace is the most valuable commodity on this planet,” he said.
While acknowledging that criticism is part of democratic governance, Mr. Brown said his personal focus remains on helping and building this country.
“My passion is helping people,” he emphasized. “You will probably never hear me publicly criticizing any government. I always ask how I can help.”
Receiving the award, Brown dedicated the honor to his Christian service and community development work, thanking African Women for Jesus to All Nations for recognizing positive leadership.
He concluded by urging Liberians, especially leaders, to model integrity and humility.
“People may listen to what you say, but they will replicate what you do,” he said, citing Micah 6:8: ‘To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.’
The honor places Mr. Allen Brown, Jr. among Liberia’s prominent voices advocating faith-driven leadership, private-sector–led economic growth, and national unity.
