In an interview with this paper, Turner said the move is expected to open new pathways for digital empowerment and job creation for young Liberians.
Libertas, meaning “The Light of Hope,” he indicated, is positioning itself as a transformative force in the global blockchain space with a clear vision to democratize blockchain technology, making it accessible to everyone from smallholder farmers to corporate executives.
According to him, company’s mission centers on building a global ecosystem of trust, transparency, and inclusion through decentralized finance (DeFi), secure digital assets, and next-generation communication tools.
Turner’s appointment brings international political leadership and social activism into the rapidly evolving blockchain industry. Dr. Turner, President and CEO of the Rebuild Liberia Movement and the standard bearer of the New Liberia Party (NLP), ran in Liberia’s 2023 presidential elections and finished 10th among 20 candidates, with 9,813 votes, including strong showings in Montserrado County and District #10.
Libertas, he noted, stands out as a pioneer in India’s blockchain ecosystem, revealing that company is recognized as the first MCA-registered blockchain development and training firm in the country and holds rare dual certifications:
The company is also a recognized participant in the Start-up India initiative, highlighting its role in shaping India’s digital future. Strategic global partnerships with payment networks, training institutions, and industry leaders further strengthen its international relevance.
It is believed that Turner’s leadership will focus on Africa-facing blockchain solutions, digital skills training, and remote employment opportunities—particularly targeting Liberian youth and students.
On his new role, the Liberian politician and now businessman explained that blockchain technology represents “a bridge between innovation and social justice,” noting that Libertas will prioritize training Liberians for remote blockchain, fintech, and digital security jobs that can compete globally.
Among other things, Dr. Turner, also a clergyman, expressed optimism of expanding the company’s footprint across Africa with high expectations of translating blockchain innovation into real economic opportunities.
