FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A West Fargo man has helped set up a fundraising page for Angela Lipps, the grandmother from Tennessee who was charged in a bank fraud case and held in custody for months.
Lipps was arrested on July 14, 2025, in Tennessee, and was eventually transferred to the Cass County Jail. She was released on Christmas Eve in 2025 after the charges against her were dismissed.
She says she was put out on the street by authorities with no assistance and no way for her to get home. F5 Project CEO Adam Martin eventually drove Lipps to Chicago, where she was able to make it back to Tennessee.
However, Lipps says that during her incarceration, she lost nearly everything. She says her family put her personal belongings into storage, but couldn’t pay that continued fee, so the items were sold off. Her rental home and car are also gone.
Upon hearing her story, Michael Nessa of West Fargo says via the GoFundMe page that he felt he had to help in some way. He set up the fundraiser with Angela’s permission so she can receive funds to help rebuild her life.
As of writing, the page was created four hours ago and has already raised over $2,000.
