STUTSMAN CO., N.D. (KVRR) — A Knoxville, Tennessee police officer died while on a hunting trip over the weekend in North Dakota.
The department says Lt. Gordon Gwathney drowned near Woodworth, North Dakota, about 40 minutes northwest of Jamestown on Sunday.
He had served with the department for about 28 years and was once named Knoxville Police Department Officer of the Year.
Funeral services are pending.
