FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Fargo Police Department says they have taken three teens into custody following an early morning incident that left one man with a gunshot wound in his foot.
FPD says they received reports of a shooting in the 1100 block of 3rd Street North just before 2:00 A.M. on Sunday, November 16. Witnesses claimed several people in dark clothing ran from the scene. There were also reports of a dark colored vehicle that failed to stop for a stop sign in the area.
Soon after, a police officer noticed a black Chevrolet Impala matching the witness description in the 400 block of NP Avenue. The officer conducted a traffic stop. Several firearms found in the vehicle were seized. Two 17-year-old males and one 16-year-old male who were in the Impala were taken into custody for unlawful possession of handguns.
Just after 2:00 A.M., a local medical facility notified the Red River Regional Dispatch Center that an adult male had just come in with a gunshot wound to the foot that was not life-threatening. Officers responded to interview the victim and gather additional information.
It’s unclear at this time what led to the shooting. This is an ongoing investigation.
