Nvidia Corp. tapped Google Cloud executive Alison Wagonfeld as chief marketing officer, a sign the Silicon Valley chipmaker is looking to further raise its profile.
Wagonfeld announced the move on LinkedIn, saying she would be joining the leadership team of Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang after leaving Alphabet Inc.’s Google in late January. The executive described the job as “a new role heading up marketing and communications as Nvidia embarks on its next phase of growth.”
Nvidia, based in Santa Clara, California, declined to comment.
Though Nvidia has soared to the top ranks of the technology world, its brand isn’t as well known as names like Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. Interbrand ranked it No. 15 in its list of best brands in 2025.
It wasn’t long ago that Nvidia was an obscure company — with an oft-mispronounced name — that mainly catered to diehard computer gamers. Now it’s the world’s most valuable corporation, with booming revenue fueled by its artificial intelligence processors.
Wagonfeld spent about a decade at Google Cloud, where she served as vice president of marketing. The business contends with Amazon.com Inc. and Microsoft for cloud computing customers and — like Nvidia — has benefited from the explosion in AI spending.
“I’m thrilled to be moving from one AI leader to another at such a transformational time,” she said in the post. “Google and Nvidia share a strong partnership, and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
