Olympic bobsledder turns to OnlyFans to help fund 2026 Games trip

German bobsledder Lisa Buckwitz has opened up about how using OnlyFans helped fund her trip to the 2026 Winter Games, which are set to kick off in Milan, Italy next month.

The 2018 Olympic gold medalist shared that the subscription-based platform, known for NSFW content, is what turned the tide for her since sponsorships alone were not enough to fund her competing in the pricey winter sport.

“It’s also a stroke of luck for me, as it allows me to finance my team,” she told German outlet Bild, adding, “It’s the best thing that could have happened to me.”

According to her own estimates, the cost of travel, equipment, training and other expenses related to the bobsled season could exceed €50,000, or $59,000.

Buckwitz, 31, has been shilling content on OnlyFans since November 2024, which she said was “sad” when announcing the news on Instagram.

“It’s a bit sad that I can’t just focus on my competitive sport,” she wrote at the time. “Sure, I’m an Olympic champion. But nobody’s interested in Lisa Buckwitz just because of the gold medal. That’s unfortunately the downside.”

She further explained that the “partnership” with Only Fans is “all about sharing the heart and hustle behind my bobsleigh journey — showing you the grit, the goals, and everything in between. From intense training days to the exhilaration on race day, I’m inviting you behind the scenes to experience what it truly takes to push limits at the highest level.”

Buckwitz, who previously appeared nude on the cover of the German edition of Playboy magazine in 2022, promised that she will “definitely not show myself naked” on her channel, acknowledging that the sexual content on the platform is “of course a topic.”

The elite athlete, who placed fourth in the 2022 Olympics, currently offers a range of subscription bundles starting at $59.98 for 3 months.
