FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Hundreds of women came out in solidarity for the United Way’s mission of helping women and kids in poverty.
The event at Delta Hotels by Marriott in Fargo was United Way’s 23rd Annual United for Impact Women’s Luncheon.
From women in the community to local businesses, the event showcased what work gets accomplished with their support.
The event also hosted a silent auction of over a hundred purses and bags of goodies, and other raffle games for attendees to bid on.
“One in seven children are suffering in poverty. And that means that they will be three times more likely to struggle with poverty as an adult unless we change that cycle for them,” said Sandi Piatz, United Way President and CEO, “And so all of these women and a few of those men are gathering together to help create change.”
Donations up to $10,000 were also doubled by both Dale Carnegie North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota and Sanford Health.
